"It's a...an awfully close dance..." You mumbled, somewhat, as you straightened your back, feeling Lovino place his hand on the small of your back.
His gaze seemed to be focused over your shoulder, and he looked...uncomfortable, to say the least.
"Y-Yeah...damn him!" he offered, as some sort of explanation. You couldn't help but giggle.
"It's not funny." He retorted.
"All right...all right." You decided that peace was the best way.
"You're just saying that to make me quiet, aren't you?" He asked, after a pause.
"Pretty much." You laughed. He looked at you, curiously for a moment, and a shy grin spread across his face.
And you felt your heart unrequitedly skip a beat.

"I-I...I don't think I'm ready, Lovi." you whispered to him, backstage, as you were getting ready for your performance in the talent show.
Lovino turned towards you, his expression serious as usual, but the condescending look was gone.
"Look, [Name]...we've been rehearsing for the past month. I know I'm not the best, and you believe that you're not good enough, but I know that you have it in you to make a statement, and isn't that what we're trying to do? Make a statement?"
When you looked back at him, blankly, he sighed, and continued. "...it doesn't matter, you're trying to get Antonio's attention, and you look really nice. Obviously, he'll be interested in you, now."
Lovino and you had grown closer than you had ever imagined. You found yourself talking for hours with him, on various topics. He often talked about his home, and you were interested. The best thing, though, was how he would listen to you ramble as well. He really wasn't such a taciturn bloke, once you really took the time to know him. And he did have a sense of humour, too! Even if it took a while to catch on to. It seemed like Lovino was a childhood friend, the way both of you would always be around each other, during lunch, during classes, rehearsing after school. Sometimes, his younger brother, Feliciano would be there, too, much to your pleasure and Lovino's displeasure. He would often give you both rather honest feedback, which you appreciated...plus, a bothered Lovino was always funny to watch.
Conversations would turn sour, however, whenever any mention of Antonio or Emma came up, and you learnt, slowly, how to exclude them from your conversations. It worked wonders, to be honest - you found yourself thinking less and less of the Spaniard. But, the feelings that were replacing it...were they legitimate?
"T-Thanks..." You managed to stutter out. However, what you hadn't told him was how you thought that he, in fact, looked better than Antonio.
"Just..." he leant in closer, to whisper into your ear. " Just follow my lead, okay?"
You nodded, dumbfounded. What on earth is wrong with me, anyway? All right, his cologne's kinda numbing my brain cells, and sure, he may look good but-
"Time to go on, guys!"
...why was life so confusing?

You could almost feel you breaths, as you tried to control your rapidly increasing heartbeat.
"Follow my lead" he just whispered, as he took the first step to the right. "You won't forget anything."
Nodding your head slightly, you stepped out right after him.
The whole dance seemed to pass by like a blur. You couldn't remember anything about it, save a few details - not whether Antonio was looking at you, or not, not whether you missed a step, either. You just felt the music, and followed Lovino's steps.
Oh, and you could distinctly remember his cologne, too.
As the dance went on, you felt bolder, and conversely, less shy. A smile grew on your face, as you twirled, and danced. You could hear the music coming to an end, but no! /you didn't want to stop! Not now!
As the tune wound its way to the end, the strangest thing happened.
You felt Lovino's lips press against yours.
And those treacherous lips of yours, they responded back with equal gusto.

You stared at your albino friend in disbelief. You knew he always had weird ideas, but this was quite out of the line.
"So, [Name]. Will you accept the challenge, or will you choose to buy me three times meal tomorrow?" Gilbert asked with a smirk.
You glared at him, lightly drumming your fingers to suppress your anger. With a heavy sigh, you answered, "Fine. But if I did, you're the one who would have to buy me lunch tomorrow. Three times."
"Deal!" he exclaimed with a smirk still plastered across his face, slamming down an envelope on your desk.
"I'll see you tom

"Not again, [Name]! What have I told you about hanging with that Potato Bastard?!"
"He's not just any 'Potato Bastard', Lovino. He's a good friend of mine, for God's sake! What's so wrong about hanging out with him?"
"I do not approve of that! He's a bad influence!"
"I can't see any bad influence he gave. Oh, come on, Lovi, he's a good guy! You just misunderstand him!"
The boy in front of you gave you a cold glare, in which you gave an equally angry glare in return. Lovino Vargas, your best friend, was always a bit sensitive whenever it comes to Ludwig Beilschmidt. The calm transfer s
